I just got off the phone with Magpul; they are sending us an FDE P-mag as a color sample.
In other news, yesterday we took the first article sample (the one in the photos on the previous page) to the LAPD Edward Davis Training Facility in Granada Hills, CA, to test fire it. We put about thirty or forty rounds through a Benelli M4 and it felt great. Far superior to the factory stock.
Then some other cops came wandering into the range and we offered to let them shoot the shotgun. The expressions on their faces were priceless. They all loved it. Especially one or two guys whose build was shorter than average.

We just got our first shots of the urethane (rubber) parts, the standard buttpad and the grip sleeve:

Next week we will have the first coyote colored items (we will be using the SureFire desert sand color instead of the Magpul FDE), and we'll do final fitting of most of the parts at that time too.

That looks AWESOME!!!

Can I buy one of these for an benelli m1 yet? Just like that one, don't want a cheek riser...

Very Cool!!
Black is perfect for my M4, but I'll need the cheekriser to use with my Aimpoint and the limbsaver because I'm planning on putting a lot of rounds downrange!
Hopefully the cheekriser bugs are getting worked out. Keep the photos coming!

Again, these stocks are not yet available for any platform. But we are close, maybe middle of October.
The cheek riser will cause the most delay, but there are other components, such as the pocket sling loops, that have also been delayed waiting for real stocks to use for fit check.
We got the coyote colored stock in the other day, it looks great. But I had a hard drive crash and we'll have to wait until my PC is up and running again before I can post more pics.

Fantastic news Mitch. Can't wait to see what the next update holds.

No news is good news? BTW, hopefully those of us who have been following this thread will have the first shot at these when they start shipping. ![]()

We accepted boxes of first articles of the Benelli M4 versions last week, but there's nothing we can do with them as they haven't yet been textured. The main stock components are done aside from that. They are still working on the cheek riser version, I believe.
Here is a coyote colored stock:

Now this photo is slightly misleading as our coyote colored stock will feature a coyote colored grip sleeve and, in the case of our own buttpad, a coyote colored buttpad. The Limbsaver buttpad will be black in all cases.

Rare I ever join a forum after seeing one thread. This would be such a time. What a great and highly needed item for owners of these platforms. I'm in for one M4 at launch and an M1 version when everything is ready. I know I'm new and all but I'm with AggiePhil... just let us know when to call ![]()

Agreed with 10auto, the Urbino will be a huge deal for M4 owners! ![]()
Mitch, thanks for the photos and updates.
Keep us up to speed - especially with the cheek riser status!

Looks amazing Mitch! Now what is the length difference between the standard buttpad and the Limbsaver? I'd love to have the Limbsaver but keeping the stock as short as possible is my primary concern. Would I be able to order both buttpads to see which one I liked the most?
Just a day or two ago, I ordered a Maxpedition Sliver II rifle case for my Benelli M4. It's 38" long--about 2" too short for the M4, but I went with it knowing that it should work once I have the Urbino. Oh, that and it was on sale for 30% off. ![]()

Nice. I'll take three.
Offline
LoP is the same with both buttpads: 12.5".
Hmmmm. For some reason I was thinking that the Limbsaver added length. Well then in that case, make mine a black M4 Urbino with a Limbsaver and cheek riser!

Mitch, will the shell holder option be available with the 1st release for the M4?

Trying to be patient over here... ![]()

You can call us at 949-642-3337 and place an order. We will ship to you as soon as we have them. Some of our dealers might accept pre-orders as well, and they will usually give you a better price.
Speaking of prices, I have good news and bad news. First the bad news: while the molds are just about finished, it will take another week for the texturing. We are also wrestling with a production problem that can only be solved by more "shrink fixtures" to be used when the stock comes out of the press. So we won't ship the first stock until the first week of November at the earliest. The first stocks shipped will be the versions without the cheek riser, and because of the extra time involved in producing the Limbsaver buttplate assemblies, those will take a little longer as well.
The GOOD NEWS, however, is that we re-evaluated our pricing decisions, and we decided to cut the prices by approximately half. We have not finalized the pricing yet, but it will be around half the prices quoted in our catalog # 14.
Some of you Benelli M4 guys were happy enough with the pricing we had. Well, the Benelli M4 is a premium-priced platform, so higher prices for accessories can be justified. But we believe the big numbers for this stock will be on the Remington platform, and that wouldn't happen with a $200+ MSRP. All our pricing will be based on the Remington platform, with a slight premium for Benellis and colors, due to smaller quantities.
How can we just slash prices like that? Our original pricing attempted to capture an amortized cost of the mold tooling, which was very expensive. The goal is to pay for the tooling with the first year's production. Building up-front production costs into pricing in this way is not unusual with molded or forged products that require expensive tooling. But after consulting with some other manufactures of plastic products we decided it was far more important to price for the market, based on actual production costs.
Our production costs remain high, compared to other stocks that have fewer bells and whistles and are produced in larger quantities, but not high enough to justify $320 for a stock (the published MSRP for SKU 91470). None of the Benelli M4 users we have spoken to, including police departments, have had any problem with the published prices, but almost every Remington owner who has tried the Urbino (including police officers) just about fainted when we told them our original MSRP.
Luckily, the production delays have meant that no one has been charged for their stocks, so we are free to play with the pricing until we deliver the first stock. We will publish a new Urbino price list before the end of October.

The delay does suck but sh*t happens. The good news is great though! Now I will be able to buy both colors. Thanks for the update!

Great news about the price point.

Mitch -
Thanks for the update. Any idea how much longer delayed the cheek piece/limbsaver versions will be?
