Oh yeah. Gotta get one of those. I think this one will probably work perfectly with a Magpul MS2/MS3 sling.

Mitch, I am getting ready to place an order with Brownells and they don't list the Urbino stock yet. I know they are one of your largest dealers. I am waiting for a black Urbino with a cheek riser and the limbsaver pad. When do you plan to ship these and when do you plan to have them listed with your dealers like Brownells? Will it realisticaly be this week?
Thanks!

Brownells' policy is that they won't include a product until they have seen it first. They have expressed interest in carrying the Urbino stock, but it won't happen until after we send them one of our first production parts.
I think we are still on target to start shipping next week, though the Limbsaver version will take longer. The cheek riser version might not take any longer than the base version, at this point.
We will send Brownells what we have as soon as we get it, and they will probably list the entire line soon after that.

Waiting on my M4 nelli stock from brownells to be 922r compliant. Yippee. On a sadder note' i rcvd this reply on their "rebate offer":...rcvd your rebate submission but unable to process due to the following reasons: 1. "The sales receipt you submitted did not show that the required products were purchased.(that would be the aforementioned M4) 2." ...product UPC codes were not written on the back of the sales receipt." (read the rebate offer and i dare you to find the phrase..."on the back of the sales receipt."I have the offer on my desk right now. Anyone, anyone else get anythinf similar...? ME163

Be persistent. Check out this thread on the Benelli forum where we're talking about similar problems that EVERYONE has run into. Like I said, be persistent.

Sent this missive to benelli at 6:20, 19 Nov 2010:"Hello, I purchased a benelli M4 11707, filled in the rebate form with ALL the required information and about 6-8 weeks later i get an email that says i did not buy the correct product. What kind of interstate scam do you have operating here? I am doing my best to "spread the word" regarding your shoddy business practices> Isn't the internet a wonderful thing? Your turn. Me too. Hope it happens.
We just got the production buttplates yesterday, so that's the first delivery of production parts (plastic ones anyway; we have had the metal parts in inventory for a long time). We sent the buttplates off to Limbsaver today.

Are WE SHIPPING this WEEK............
Let down once again.
The molders have been having problems with the texture house. They had to send two molds back for rework. Maybe this is why the project manager over there tried to convince me not to bother with texture.
Anyway, they are committed to our shipping stocks before the end of this month, so that is definitely next week. We will ship Urbino Tactical stocks for the Benelli M4 with standard buttpads. We might be able to ship the cheek riser versions as well, I am not sure about that. I doubt the Limbsaver versions will go out next week because we just send the backplates to Limbsaver on Friday. But perhaps they will surprise us.
Sorry guys, now you know what we know.

Thanks for keeping us posted Mitch. Honestly though, I don't think many people are interested in the standard buttpad version of the stock. Why get that version when the Limbsaver seems to offer so much more? So...I guess we'll be waiting even longer for it to come out.

I remember reading here that during early LEO evaluations of the Urbino with the Limbsaver pad they were having trouble with, or didn't like it. What were the objections?

The objection from a small number of guys or maybe even just one guy was that the Limbsaver buttpad absorbed the recoil too much to make good follow-up shots.
We originally heard this as some kind of big deal everyone was experiencing. We recently learned it was a very minor thing that only one or two guys mentioned. Most of the cops really liked the Limbsaver pad and will be ordering it.
I wish we had had a better understanding of this at the beginning since the standard buttpad mold was expensive to make, and it's now likely it would have been completely unnecessary.

First out will be the Benelli M4 model, then the Benelli M1/M2/SuperNova, then the Remington. I had anticipated about 30 days between platforms, but the mold guys are saying it could be less.
So, fingers crossed, it's looking like this:
Benelli M4: December 1
Benelli M1/M2/SuperNova: January 1
Remington: February 1:

Mitch - thanks for all of the updates. Really looking forward to this product. Quick question: is there an estimate for the Benelli M4 with limbsaver/cheek piece yet?

It's December 1st! ![]()

Yeah, thanks for the reminder.
It's very frustrating out here. We had to ask Limbsaver to trash the buttplates we sent them because something was wrong with the resin composition. Meanwhile, the entire product line is being held up by the grip sleeves, whose mold is still at the texturing house.
I have a lot of confidence in our plastics guys (after all, they are also SureFire's plastic guys), but it seems some of the suppliers they are sending stuff out to might be cowboys. The texture house already botched two molds that had to be re-done.
Edit: Part of the "problem" is that the guy who runs the plastics house is a bit of a perfectionist. He's driving his people to make everything perfect. I guess that's not a bad way to be, in general.
The stock armatures are done. New buttplates are being run now. The grip sleeves should be done at any moment. I don't know what's happening with the standard buttpads, but I haven't heard of any problems.
The good news, I guess, is the phone is ringing off the hook with Benelli guys calling about the stock, so it's becoming famous out there. Dudes are even showing up here at the shop (and there's no where for them to sit!).

That good news is old news Mitch. We (Benelli guys) have been excited about this stock for a long time. The problem is that nothing has come to fruition. Put some foot to ass! ![]()

Hey Mitch,
Regarding the Pocket Hook Loop for the Urbino Stock (91760), can a Magpul MS2 sling's snap shackle fit through the loop hole? Curious.

I am not familiar with that product, but from the photos I have seen on the interwebs, it looks like it ought to fit into our pocket hook loops.
BTW, yesterday a guy was in here and he gave us a pretty neat idea: hook loop and pushbutton sling swivel versions of the rear sling plates (the ones in the middle of the stocks)
Also BTW, this afternoon we are taking delivery of cheek risers and buttplates.
We will be assembling the cheek risers (putting four button head cap screws in each one) and sending buttplates up to Limbsaver while we wait for the rest of the stocks to come in at the end of the week. At the moment the critical path is the grip sleeves. Everything else is done. Plastics house is gluing (standard) buttpads to buttplates this week too.
Limbsaver and coyote color will take a little longer, but it's looking like we will start shipping Urbino Tactical stocks at the beginning of next week!

The MS2 Snap Shackle is basically a alternative to other QD hooks on the market. So if the Pocket Hook Loop can accept an H&K hook, then the MS2 Snap Shackle should be fine too.

Awesome! Based on the Limbsavers taking a little extra time to get sent back, do you have an estimate when the 91470 will be available (Benelli M4, Cheek Riser, Limbsaver Butt, 12-GA, Black)?

Like I posted above, I believe that the QD option with a QD swivel attached will probably work the best with a Magpul MS2/MS3 sling. An HK hook doesn't give the attachment point as much room as a large QD swivel.

We will be sending buttplates to Limbsaver tomorrow, and they are already making the buttpads for us. If they start working on it Monday, they should be done in a week and we'll get them early the week of 13 December.

Mitch, Thanks again for the updates!
I am anxiously waiting for a black M4 Urbino with the Limbsaver pad and Cheekriser.
My guess is that most of the Benelli guys will hold out for the limbsaver and cheekriser version. People who spend the extra money to buy an M4 will probably spend the extra for the limbsaver and cheekriser options as well.
I am ready to order as soon as you are ready to ship!
