Hogue Forend and 8-shot SureShell on Remington 870

The Hogue forend is 7 1/4" long.  Will it fit with the 8-shot SureShell on a Remington 870 or will I need to use the 6-shot instead?

Thanks,

It definitely will not fit with an 8-shot.  The 8-shot goes right up to the front edge of the receiver, so any forend that overlaps the receiver even a little will have to be modified.  Of course, since the Hogue forend has a rubber overmold, we don't recommend cutting it down.

So I'd suggest you go with the 6-shot.

Thanks, Mitch.  I think I'll stay with my current forend (SpeedFeed, 6 3/4" long, stops right at the receiver end with no overlap) so I can carry 2 complete reloads on the receiver, using an 8-shot on the left and a 4-shot on the right; I have a 6-shot mag on my 870.  31B50
