Final release will be delayed until some time in April because we are making the mounting nuts (for semi-autos) and bolts (for the 870). However, we will probably release a handful of backorders by the end of March for 870 users who can use the factory hardware.
What determines whether you can use the factory hardware or need your bolt to mount he stock to an 870? I have my 870 Urbino pre-ordered from Harris Tactical, but they did not list a "bolt" option.

If I just have a standard Rem 870P do I need a special bolt to install the 870 urbino stock?
Been on the wait list since December 2010.

You probably won't need our bolt.
We will start shipping these next week. We are going to include a sheet of paper that says use the factory bolt if you can, and if you can't let us know and we'll send new a bolt (or nut in the case of a semi-auto; in fact, you can't use the factor nut with the semi-autos because the factory nuts are too long (it's that tight of a fit back there!)).

Ok. My turn for the stupid question on the forum.
Do you mean that the Urbino stocks for Remingtons should be shipping soon, or just the mounting nuts and bolts and then more T&E before the stocks ship?
Also, for us Remington 11-87 and 1100 guys does this mean we will receive the stock and then have to wait another week to get the part we will need?

New development:
The Urbino for Remington will begin shipping on 13 April. We are already processing the backorders. All these stocks will include the nut for the semi-autos. They probably won't include the 870 stock bolt, but in these cases the factory bolt can be used.
We are getting the stocks in this week but the warehouse is so hammered we can't actually ship them until the following week.

So did these start shipping?

Mitch,
Just got my stock in today. Threw it on my 11-87 and found a problem.
The nut you speak of for us semi-auto guys was no where to be found.
The standard nut protrudes about a 1/2" out the back of the stock. SOOO.....
I called the customer service line in the back of the instruction manual and the young lady was very helpful. She told me that the nuts (insert immature laughter) are a month behind on back order.
So, not too worried about it. Once it is in inventory it will come my way.
That being said, the stock is awesome! I couldnt secure it, but I did compare it to the standard stock and the Urbino shaves 2" off the stock.
Once I can get this bad boy on Im going to make a small mountain of hulls!!
My friend was over and was wondering if you guys have plans for creating these for the Mossberg shooters?

No, we have them. I guess for some reason the nut isn't in the bill of materials for the stock kit. And Lucy is probably confusing the nut with the 870 bolt, which is indeed delayed.
E-mail your address to support@mesatactical.com and I will send you the nut.

No plans at present. It would not be difficult to support the Mossberg 930, so we are waiting to see how successful the Urbino stock is overall before we think seriously about that.
The Mossberg 500 would be a lot more difficult to support, given the distance between the trigger group and the back of the receiver on the 500. Unless something unusual happens (like a deal from Mossberg or a request from the Navy or something), we probably won't be supporting the 500.

I got the Remington 870 Urbino stock yesterday Mitch and didn't have any problems with the install. Took it out to the range today and it is very comfortable on the shoulder and the length of pull was perfect.

Mitch - You'd make quite a few Mossberg 930 SPX owners happy if you would think seriously about that! The factory and Choate pistol grip stocks are all that are available... Or will be for the foreseeable future. Frankly, both blow. The Choate is heinous in appearance and the OEM stock feels fragile.
IMHO: A good quality PG stock is the missing link to making this good shotgun great.

Just got my Urbino; took me a minute to figure out the install (Supernova features a couple extra steps that aren't in the manual), but once I worked it out, it was a breeze. Shoulders and maneuvers FAST, and comfort is outstanding. Looking forward to test firing...

I read above that there was a possibility of making a Urbino stock for the Mossberg 930. I was wondering if thats ever going to actually happen? Or if Mesa Tactical offers another stock to replace the standard 930 Stock.

Thanks for the Info. Hope the design process and prototype phases go well for the 930 Urbino stock. I think it would be a perfect addition for that shotgun.

Just wanted to say that I have been patiently waiting for these stocks for my 930s for a while now..

PS: Let me know if you need a photography wor: technical, catalog or otherwise

I've been looking around the various sites hoping to find a good tactical pistol grip stock for my Mossberg 930SPX. Choates are pretty ugly. I'd like to put in my two cents worth to ask for you guys to do an Urbino for the 930...please.
Offline
We'd like to make one for the 930. Aside from you guys, we're getting a few phone calls. We have a great relationship with Mossberg, and they have sent us a 3D solid model of the 930 to work with (which is more than we can get out of some of the other OEMs out there), which makes development a lot easier.
At this moment our plates are kind of full, but the next work we do on the Urbino will probably be a port for the 930.

What do you mean by "port"

What do you mean by "port"
"port" verb (Electronics & Computer Science / Computer Science) (tr) To change (programs) from one system to another.
In other words: He is probably going to "change" or "port" the stock to make it compatable with the Mossberg 930.

Yes, my second career was in high tech (my first career was in pre-press production and printing; I am now on my third career), and we used the word "port" as a noun and a verb to describe making software work on a new platform. Like if you had a Macintosh program you wanted to work on Windows, you would call that a Windows port, or porting it to Windows.
It's hard to shake the old vocabulary.

mitch emailed you some concerns with my urbino.

My first time seeing the Urbino stock and I really would like to purchase one for my Mossberg 930 but all that is available is from Choate. I have nothing against them but I like the look of your Urbino. Are you planning on producing this stock for the 930?
Thanks
