New Benelli Stock Prototype
Posted: August 27 2008
A couple years ago we at Mesa Tactical had an idea for an adjustable cheek riser that could replace the cheekpiece on the Benelli M1014. We noticed that Marines were using optical sighting devices on these platform, but weren’t enjoying optimal cheek weld; they would have to raise their heads from the stock to use optics.
We finally got around to producing a resin prototype. Our design comprises six polymer pieces plus a spring and fasteners and allows an operator to quickly and easily add 1/2” or 1” of elevation to the Benelli stock. After passing the prototype around among military and other professional operators, we intend to injection mold this assembly from long glass fiber Verton nylon.
We’ll have more news about it later as we receive feedback from the field. Below are pictures of the stock attached to shotguns with and without an optic sight. Notice the elevated stock with the use of an optic.
