SureShell® Aluminum Carrier For Moss 500 (Side Mount)
Our SureShell shotshell carriers retain ammunition reliably and, being metal, can withstand the rigors of daily use and abuse. Fabricated from aircraft aluminum, they feature an innovative rubber friction retention system and tough construction to endure years of use and abuse. Since their introduction, they have rapidly become our bestselling accessories, and an emerging industry standard.
SureShell carrier yokes are milled from 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum, then bead blasted and Mil-spec hard anodized for a rugged non-glare finish. SureShell yokes are secured to application-specific brackets, and some SureShell carriers include high temperature adhesive-backed die-cut rubber gaskets to protect the host shotgun’s finish.
SureShell shotshell carriers are available in two configurations: four-shell and six-shell. The six-shell configurations can be installed on the left side of the receiver.
The side mount scheme of our shotgun SureShell shotshell carriers for the Mossberg 500/590 substitutes two custom-machined steel Chicago screws for the trigger pin. At the front of the mounting plate, custom retaining steel hardware is used with an elongated extractor screw and a machined key hole in the plate. The Mossberg 930 mounting system is similar, except it uses two sets of Chicago screws in place of the two trigger pins. The mounting plate was designed not to obscure the receiver serial number to make it easier for armorers to inventory their weapons. SureShell shotshell carriers for the Mossberg fit on the left side of the receiver only. You must use a tactical forend that does not significantly overlap the receiver, or a factory forend that is cut down appropriately. SureFire forends will work fine with no alterations.

Fast shipment, easy installation, and a quality product. It's nigh-indistinguishable from an early production of the same item on another shotgun of mine; its that consistent over the years. Oh, and great customer service, too! There may be cheaper options out there, but Mesa has earned my repeat business through their product design, product quality and consistency, and their support for their wares, no matter when it was purchased (or by whom). You don't get what you pay for. You get more.
Great quality, easy not cut/drill/weld installation. Made in USA. Looks awesome. Very useful for carrying 6 extra 12 ga shot shells. Installed on a Mossberg 590A1 Tactical Magpul Edition. Shell holder is a bit pricey but worth it. Comes well packaged and with plenty of clear instructions and all necessary backup hardware.
I wasn"t sure if the product would fit with my Crimson Trace Laser. It fit perfectly. I just eliminated one washer. Well designed and manufactured. Should last forever. Appreciate the extra, spare, parts.
I love this quality made in America product. As an immigrant and a Veteran it means a lot to me. I called for a general question and was surprised at the knowledge and friendliness. It was very easy to install and I love the fit and finish. Very well thought out!!
Purchased this carrier for my Mossberg 500, and I am very pleased. Very rugged yet light carrier. When I later went to repair my shell ejector, I stupidly stripped out the ejector button head screw. I contacted Mesa Tactical, and they responded and had a replacement delivered to my door in less than two weeks, no charge. I will be returning for future upgrades. Thanks, Mesa Tactical!
Well built, should last a lifetime. Installation was quick and easy with the help of a youtube video.
Great product, this is my third aluminum shell carrier, all fit the various firearms I installed them on. I would have given five stars except for one issue. The Allen wrench’s supplied with the mounting screws do not fit well enough to gain a good purchase. Lucky for me I have a ton of tools and had two of my own that fit.
I'm glad I bought this for my Mossberg 590A1T, with 20" barrel. It's almost exaggeratedly strong - I suspect it could be treated as a sledgehammer with no failure. Shell retention is excellent with no worries. The only complaint I have is one portion of the instructions: the part that describes how to use the rubber gasket that goes between the carrier and the shotgun itself. The printed instructions are ambiguous and unclear. I ended up cutting the gasket the way I thought it should be cut, and it works just fine. Despite that lack of clarity, I'd much rather depend on this carrier than some rubber contraption available elsewhere, especially if my life depended on it. I would recommend it to anyone.
If you are thinking about getting it you are already wrong...... get it you will not regret it......
