Urbino® Pistol Grip Stock for Beretta 1301 shotguns
Mesa Tactical is happy to announce a joint project with Beretta USA. Mesa Tactical’s Urbino stock has been selected for use on Beretta’s 1301 tactical shotgun. The Urbino shotgun stock has become an industry standard for tactical shotguns and is being developed at the request of Beretta.
Specifically designed as a tactical stock, the Urbino has features that make it a definitive upgrade over standard butt stocks. Made from injection-molded glass-filled nylon, the Urbino tactical stock has a 12½ inch length of pull (LoP) for improved weapon control and use with body armor; optional field-adjustable cheek riser to provide improved cheek weld when used with optics; optional Limbsaver® butt pad for greater shooting comfort, especially during long training or certification courses; shock-absorbing rubber grip sleeve to reduce shooter fatigue; and a variety of standard and proprietary sling mounting options.
The Beretta 1301 shotgun is Beretta's new gas operated semi-automatic shotgun designed for law-enforcement and home-defense. Engineered to be ultra-reliable, easy to use and safe, it has all the features that a modern tactical shotgun should offer, and more. And thanks to its compact size (barrel length: 18.5”), it is ideal for negotiating tight spaces as well as for being safely stored away when not needed.
“Mesa Tactical couldn’t be happier to be selected by a company like Beretta.” Mitch Barrie, Founder and President of Mesa Tactical further commented “Both the shotgun and the stock are the best in their respective classes. It is an honor the Urbino stock was chosen by Beretta for their new 1301 tactical shotgun”
“This is a great step forward in the development of the 1301 Tactical shotgun” said John Tamborino, Tactical Product Manager at Beretta USA. “We are proud to partner with Mesa Tactical to bring this newest evolution of the 1301 Tactical to market.”

LIMBSAVER RECOIL PAD
The Urbino tactical stock accepts four snap-in buttpad designs: two standard Santoprene buttpads; and two featuring a recoil-reducing Limbsaver pad. Each of the two styles is available for use with or without a cheek riser. These buttpad assemblies are interchangeable and are also available separately. The snap-in design allows easy access to the inside of the stock assembly for stock removal or installation. The recoil pad assembly is also an integral component of the Urbino tactical stock adjustable cheek riser system. Stocks supporting cheek risers feature “wings” on the buttplates that retain the cheek riser on the stock. This is another reason for the snap-in design of the buttpads: to facilitate the rapid removal or adjustment of the Urbino cheek riser.
URBINO CHEEK RISER
Urbino tactical stocks with cheek risers must use buttpads with cheek riser retaining “wings.” The Urbino tactical stock cheek riser concept is simple. The cheek riser rides on a pair of rails molded into the sides of the stock armature, and is secured in place by the snapin buttpad. There are five pairs of slots on the inside of the cheek riser offering a range of 1¼ inches of vertical adjustment in five elevations, in addition to using the stock with no cheek riser at all. Because the cheek riser requires support rails on the side of the stock armature, cheek risers cannot be installed on Urbino tactical stocks that do not have these rails. So while an Urbino tactical stock with cheek riser rails can be used without the cheek riser, the opposite is not true: standard Urbino tactical stocks cannot accept cheek risers. The decision whether to support a cheek riser must be made upon initial purchase of the Urbino tactical stock.

Much much better than the fa ctory stock. Cheek riser could use a pad but not a big deal. Lots of
The limbsaver pad is far softer than the stock pad, it reduces the length of pull by a 1/2 inch (which is more significant than I thought), it's easier to control it by swinging it left to right, and the cheek riser makes it to where I can immediately have the sights lined up with my eye without thinking. That being said, the cheek riser system could be better designed because it was a pain to put on. You guys should rethink that. It also came with no instructions, which isn't a big deal for me, but that would help others out. Fix those two things, and you will deserve a 5 star review.
I got this stock in today when installing the buttpad the bottom clip broke. I have tried calling but it goes to an answering machine I have written two different emails to different address I hope to hear back from you.
